Surrogacy

Surrogacy is an arrangement in which a woman agrees to become pregnant for the purpose of giving birth to a child or children for others (intended parents) to raise.

Overview

Surrogacy is an arrangement in which a woman agrees to become pregnant for the purpose of giving birth to a child or children for others (intended parents) to raise. This special woman is called the surrogate.

OneWorld Generations Group conducts gestational surrogacy arrangements, whereby embryos produced by the intended parents, with eggs from the intended mother or with the assistance of an egg donor, are implanted in the surrogate.

The embryo is produced by a process called in vitro fertilization (IVF). This process ensures the baby has no genetic relationship to the surrogate.

Choosing to be a surrogate is a personal decision that can only be made by you and your husband or partner.

Surrogates are very special people who willingly offer to help in a way that will change others’ lives forever. It is because of this compassionate and selfless act that surrogates often have a special bond with their intended parents.

Why being a surrogate?

Becoming a surrogate is not just about making money or experiencing pregnancy. It is a decision driven by empathy and the desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

For couples struggling with infertility, surrogacy offers hope and the chance to experience parenthood. By becoming a surrogate, one can provide an invaluable gift that cannot be measured in monetary terms.

But surrogacy is not just about physical service. It is a journey of empathy and compassion, fostering deep connections with the intended parents and the child. It requires selflessness, sacrifice, and emotional resilience, but offers the opportunity for personal growth and transformation.

In conclusion, being a surrogate is a decision that requires courage and compassion, but offers the chance to make a profound difference in the world.

Things to know about being a surrogate

Surrogates carry a baby for intended parents who can’t conceive on their own. The baby is genetically related to the intended parents or donors, not the surrogate.

Surrogates get paid for their time, effort, and expenses. It’s not just a one-time payment at the end – compensation is provided throughout the process.

Surrogates have a say in the process and get matched with intended parents they feel comfortable working with.

Surrogates undergo IVF, which includes giving themselves injections. But don’t worry, most surrogates say the needles aren’t a big deal.

Emotional support is provided throughout the process to make sure everyone feels comfortable and happy.

While surrogates may bond with the baby during the pregnancy, they know they’re giving the baby back to the intended parents. Surrogates do not feel an attachment to the baby they carry.
